About Us

The Balcarras Trust came into existence on December 1^st 2020. It was formed by the Members and Trustees of the Balcarras Academy Trust, which as a Single Academy Trust (SAT) had oversight of Balcarras School based in Cheltenham. In 2018, Balcarras was appointed by the Regional Schools' Commissioner to be the sponsor of a new secondary school for Cheltenham. That school—The High School Leckhampton—opened on September 1^st 2021. In 2023, Winchcombe School, an 11-16 Comprehensive School based in the Cotswolds, joined the Trust.

At the moment, the Trust is made up of these three schools, but we are open to the possibility that the trust might grow in the future.
