FULL MARKS FOR GITEP
GITEP receives superb OFSTED report from inspection earlier this year.
The Balcarras Trust is delighted that the Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Partnership has achieved a superb OFSTED report. GITEP, which trains some 80 to 100 teachers every year, was rated Strong in every area by OFSTED during their inspection in February 2026. Inspectors highlighted how well-prepared trainees are to begin their teaching careers, alongside the strong levels of support they receive throughout their training year. The report also recognises the positive impact of GITEP’s close partnership with local schools.
Balcarras Headteacher Dominic Burke is the Chair of GITEP and several Trust colleagues play an integral role in its success. The Trust would like to congratulate all of the colleagues who work for GITEP and in particular the Director, Becky Rose.
